Road trips and Bungy Jumping

Ive had an awesome week. Wednesday was spent tiki-touring on James bike; decadent restaurant lunch with views, adrenalin pumping, wind in the hair and fresh air heaven. The leathers didnt quite make it but nevermind, have always been more inspired by denim anyway. Thursday we did the drive back to Auckland. I dearly love road trips, even short ones. For the first time in too long my camera has had a work out. Probably nothing much of interest to anyone bar myself but I had a ball and have picked some out for you. They are in order of occurrence, Tuesday to Thursday. The black and white pictures were shot in b&w. Yes, James got a speeding ticket.
Friday we decided to jump off Aucklands beautiful harbour bridge - Proof is in the Pudding - I was excited but otherwise completely calm about it all until I found myself shuffling towards the precipice and realised I was expected to jump off it. Holy Hell. When you’re in the carpark looking up it doesnt seem very high, 47m doesnt even sound very high, I was actually a little disappointed. Once you’re perched on narrow ledge the ocean below looks like a speck on the distant horizon. Despite being convinced this was the end for me I didnt have long to dwell, you actually fall very fast. Did I enjoy it? Definitely a rush but the jury is out so Ill be heading for NZ’s highest bungy at 134m asap. I figure that a higher one will give one longer to decide whether this particular thrill is adding years or subtracting them. Now its Saturday night. James headed home this morning so Im in catch up mode for the next few days. Will say it again…awesome week.
